Join Katie Joosten, Registered Social Worker and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional, for a two-hour, in-person workshop at Radiant Community Centre, created for expecting parents and those in the early months postpartum.
This workshop is designed to gently prepare and normalize the postpartum season, a time of significant change for individuals, relationships, and families. The space is intentionally welcoming of babies, and participants are invited to attend on their own or alongside a partner or support person.
Together, we’ll focus on tending to your mental health, caring for your relationship(s), and exploring how to support one another during a season that can feel both tender and overwhelming. We’ll also discuss how to make thoughtful use of community resources and support people around you, recognizing that postpartum was never meant to be done alone.
Topics will include:
Common emotional and mental health experiences in the postpartum period
Gentle, realistic self-care strategies for this season
Practicing self-compassion amid change and exhaustion
Communicating needs and setting boundaries
Staying connected with partners and support people
Participants will receive a take-home workbook with practical tools, reflection prompts, and planning pages to support you beyond the workshop.
This workshop offers a supportive, non-judgmental space grounded in the belief that postpartum is a season — one that deserves care, flexibility, and community.
